Posture Before Provision: Why Alignment Comes Before Breakthrough
A lot of people are asking God for change… but they haven’t changed their posture.
They want breakthrough, but they’re still resistant. They want clarity, but they’re not listening. They want God to move, but they haven’t positioned themselves to receive what He’s already trying to give.
Because with God, posture matters.
Not your outward appearance. Not how things look to other people. Your inward posture; your heart, your surrender, your willingness, your alignment.
In the Bible, over and over again, we see that God responds to posture. “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” That’s not about personality; it’s about positioning. Pride resists. Humility receives.
And many people don’t realize that you can be praying for something while your posture is pushing it away.
You can ask God for direction, but if you’ve already decided what you want to do, you’re not actually seeking; you’re waiting for agreement. You can ask for healing, but still hold onto the thoughts, habits, and agreements that contributed to the issue in the first place. You can ask for elevation, but resist the stretching, correction, and obedience that comes with it.
That’s a posture issue.
Posture is what determines whether you are teachable or defensive. Whether you are surrendered or striving. Whether you are led by God or led by your emotions.
And God is not just looking at what you say; He’s looking at how you’re positioned.
Are you open?
Are you willing to be corrected?
Are you actually listening, or just reacting?
Are you surrendered, or are you trying to stay in control?
Because control feels safe… but it blocks trust.
And trust is required if you’re going to walk with God.
A right posture says, “God, I may not understand, but I’m willing.”
It says, “Search me, show me, correct me.”
It says, “Not my way, Your way.”
That’s where transformation happens.
Because God doesn’t just respond to need, He responds to alignment.
And when your posture shifts, everything begins to shift with it. Your perspective changes. Your decisions change. Your sensitivity to His voice increases. And suddenly, what once felt confusing becomes clear because you finally positioned yourself to hear.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, delayed, or disconnected, it’s worth asking: is it really that God isn’t moving… or is my posture off?
Inside the 21 Day Temple Detox, we walk through what it actually looks like to come into alignment with God not just in what you say, but in how you live, think, respond, and surrender. Because breakthrough isn’t just about asking God to move.
It’s about being positioned when He does.
